Robert "Bob" Galvin, age 91 of Penn Hills, formerly of Lawrenceville, went to dance with his love Ellie to a choir of angels on Sunday, September 24, 2016. Together they shared 65 years of love and laughter. He was preceded in death by his daughter Debbie, his sons-in-law P. B. and Jack and his grandson Derek. He will be truly missed and loved through wonderful memories by his eight children: Russ (Nancy), Lorrie (P. B.), Debbie (Jack), Steve, Dave (Robin), Kathy (Ken), Patti (Mike) and Tracie (Sean). Bob was a decorated World War II veteran. He was often told by strangers he was a true American hero, he was always quick to say the true hero’s never came home. He will be remembered for his bright blue eyes, friendly smile and quick sense of humor. Family and friends will be received 1 -8 p.m. Tuesday September 26th at MAURICE L. KNEE, LTD. Church, 245 Azalea Dr., Monroeville, PA 15146 (Everyone please meet at the church.) Committal prayers and US Army military honors will take place after Mass before burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, Lawrenceville. In lieu of flowers, the Galvin Family suggest donations to the Wounded Warrior Project.
