Obituary for Marjorie "Margie" Moore (Harris)

Marjorie "Margie" Moore (Harris)
Marjorie "Margie" (Harris) Moore, age 94 of Plum, formerly of Monroeville, on Monday, October 1, 2018. Predeceased by her loving husband, Randy, of 68 years. Cherished mother of Sharon Graziano (John Gagetta) of Murrysville, Susan Droege (late John) of Harrison City and William Moore (Janet) of Huntersville, NC. Adored grandmother of Shelley Swanson (Rick), Beth Collison (Jake), John Droege (Lisa Rodgers), Kristin Moore, Keith Moore (Natasha) and Kaitlin Haras (Greg). Great-grandmother of R. J., Emma, Nyla and Ivy. Sister of the late Donald Harris (late Betty). Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. To live 94 years is an elusive accomplishment, but perhaps more unique is the time period she lived through. At the young age of 6, she was accidentally shot by a neighbor. The bullet was never removed and she went on to live a wonderful life. She worked as a switchboard operator during World War II and returned to a similar job at Gateway School District 40 years later after raising 3 children. She also worked at the family owned business – Moore's Draperies and Slipcovers. At the ripe age of 80 she began a second career dancing with the Clover Belles at nursing homes and charity benefit functions. Her faith, love of family, and many hobbies, kept her active throughout the decades. She loved the Steelers and Notre Dame. Her ability to adapt to new technology such as texting and face time kept her in contact with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She often rewarded those who helped her with her well-known chocolate chip cookies. She was a caring, compassionate person, who listened to all. Friends received Thursday 2:30 to 8:00 p.m. at MAURICE L. KNEE, LTD. FUNERAL HOME, 7663 Saltsburg Rd. (across from S & T Bank) Plum, PA 15239. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, 10:00 a.m., Our Lady of Joy R. C. Church, 2000 O'Block Rd., Plum. Everyone please meet at the church. Interment will follow in Good Shepherd Cemetery.
